Setting Alerts and Acknowledging Alerts
To try this Use Scenario out, please set up a Trial Account and add a category using the Manufacturing Assets template.
Note: You need to add / edit two Items in the Category, DYNABRADE SANDER and 12" MITER SAW.
1. Go to "Account Home" and navigate to the "Manufacturing Assets" category
2. Locate "DYNABRADE SANDER" from the table and double click row to view details page
3. Click on the "Apply Alert to Item", then fill in the information that applies to "DYNABRADE SANDER" and make alert time based
Note: A time based alert means that the alert will be
active / inactive / expired based on a date / time that you set.
A time based alert is similar to a calendar reminder.
The two parameters that need to be set are the effective date
and the expiration date. The effective date is the date / time
when the alert becomes active. The expiration date is the
date / time when the alert expires.
4. And after creating an alert, you decided to create a condition based alert for "12" MITER SAW"
Note: A condition based alert becomes active / inactive
depending on a specific field in the item. You select
a field name, a comparison operation and a compare value.
When the condition specified is true the alert becomes active.
For example, an Equipment alert can be specified on a 12" MITER SAW
(item) when the Lead Time for Parts is 15 days (field) become less
than or equal to (comparison) 10 (value).
Note: An alert that is both time based and condition based becomes active
when both the time base and condition base are active.
In summary, you have created alerts to track items status of Manufacturing Assets Category.
